Itagüí is the Guadalupe of the south. Carrera 50A #46-7, around Fátima. The pin falls at 6.1902793, -75.5911607. It is for anyone who works or lives on this side of the valley and is not riding up to Bello or Laureles on a jammed Thursday for three tacos. Reviews talk about large portions, a decorated room, and owners present. That fits the brand story, even if the first door is still Obra 2000.
The card in the south
Same structure. Four flautas as a starter, three tacos as the base order, a main if the table is hungry for a plate. The 2019 prices, tacos from $13,900 to $18,900 and flautas at $13,900, are a compass. Ask today's number at the door. Do not arrive with a seven-year-old article printed out, which is a strange way to have lunch. Sauce on the edge. If you want seafood, assume it is the price jump of the card, already $35,900 to $45,900 in 2019, and higher now.
Burrito without BBQ. Quesadilla if someone does not want heat. Nuggets if there is a kid. The margarita after, not before. The full map of rooms is on the Guadalupe menu. 301 493 3887 is the contact that travels with the brand.
Getting to Fátima
50A with 46 is Itagüí by car, or by metro to Itagüí or Envigado and a short ride. It is not a walk from Parque Belén, even if Belén is “up that way.” Do not confuse this 50A with Arrayanes in Medellín or with Aranjuez. The number 46-7 and the word Itagüí have to go in the Google Maps button. The pin on this page is in the town, not in Medellín.
Parking is the street or the shop, not a mall. When the south's factories and offices let out, 50A gets slow. If you can, arrive at 12:15 if they open at noon, or at 6:30 if dinner is the service. Confirm Itagüí's exact hour. Several rooms of the house live at night.
Why come down here
Because Laureles on Friday is a line and a circular, Belén fills too, and Bello is another town. Itagüí exists so the south has its Virgin oval without asking permission. The room, according to people who have eaten here, feels Mexican in the decoration and generous on the plate. That is what the brand has promised since Calle 55. If it holds in Fátima, you do not need the original branch to have a good night. If you want the history, go up to Bello another day.
Order flautas, try the sauce, look for the cover emblem hanging in the room, and stay. The south also gets a margarita without crossing the river twice. That is the branch. Use it on a weekday, when 50A still moves, and save Saturday for when you actually want a line.
